How does the FreeAdvantage system work for job seeking candidates?
If you are not a member of JobbingTree, you will receive either an initial email or phone call inviting you to apply for that job or you will find JobbingTree.com through a referral or advertising. To apply for any job through JobbingTree, you must register. As you complete registration, you answer questions that are used to build a digital profile and resume. This information and the criteria given by our employers are used to find the best possible matches for both parties.
If you were contacted regarding a specific position, you will be prompted to complete that application at sign-up. You also may register without applying for the position, if you choose.
Once you are a member of JobbingTree, at intervals of your choosing, you will receive periodic emails with new jobs that are mutual matches for you and the employer. You may log in to examine the job offerings to determine if you wish to apply. If you do decide to do so, it is an easy process since your digital resume is already in our database. For your protection, only the employers to whom you apply will be able to access your phone number, and they'll be able to email you only through our internal email system, which keeps your email confidential until you choose to share it.
Are JobbingTree's services truly free? How is that possible?
Your candidate membership, including your digital profile and resume and our job matching and application services, is completely free of charge. We can provide our services free of charge by placing limited, relevant advertising throughout the site and/or by charging the employer in the event of recruitment or staffing requests. We do not encourage you to click on or opt into any ads in which you are not interested simply to support us. Additionally, donations will never be solicited or accepted.

JobbingTree Security3 Initiative
We are serious about security - more so than many other career sites - and take a triple-reinforced approach to protecting your information. The three components of our Security3 initiative are:
- Protected Contact Information (PCI)
- Employer and Job Approval Process (EJAP)
- Suspicious Activity Location System (SALS)
Protected Contact Information (PCI)
We do not allow employers to browse resumes and contact information. An employer can only see the phone number of candidates that have applied to their job listings. While the employer can email you through JobbingTree.com, they will never see your email address unless you chose to reveal it to them.
Because JobbingTree.com utilizes digital resumes, as opposed to uploaded .doc or .pdf files, your information is best protected, and we can use your protected information to find the best possible job matches for you. Most uploaded resumes contain personal information that could be used to spam or scam you. Your digital resume allows us to reveal only specific fields of information to employers, which reduces and nearly eliminates the possibility of your information being abused.
Additionally, we will not provide your information to third party advertisers without your permission. You will be contacted by our advertisers only if you opt into their offers. We choose our advertisers carefully, selecting only those who we believe conform to our brand image, mission, and to the level of professionalism for which we strive. Employer and Job Approval Process (EJAP)
Our employer registration and job posting processes are not fully automated. Also, we do not allow anonymous registration or postings. Every employer is manually approved by JobbingTree staff before their registration is completed, and then, each job posting and any subsequent edits made are manually approved by JobbingTree staff. These manual approvals stop most schemers from accessing our site, our services, and what little of your information would be available to them.
We log all employer information so that, if an employer does attempt any unlawful activity, we can provide the most information possible to law enforcement agencies.
Suspicious Activity Location System (SALS)
Very rarely, suspicious activity is so well masked that we do not detect it initially. To help in this matter, we provide links on each job offering's page that allow you to flag and report suspicious activity. When doing so, you can provide notes and categorize the type of unsavory activity. A JobbingTree staff member then researches the employer and posting that have been flagged and reported before making a decision on whether or not to remove and/or report the employer.
Other career sites might deem this excessive, but we deem it necessary and do it happily. Searching for a new career should not put your identity at risk.

JobbingTree FreeAdvantage
How does FreeAdvantage work for employers?
After you find us - either by email invitation, user or advertising referral - a representative from your company fills out our simple registration form. A JobbingTree staff member then works through the approval process with your company, and you will receive an email when your registration is approved. Upon approval, you are free to add job postings, which will be approved by a JobbingTree staff member, too. Once approved, we search our database and other databases to find job candidates who generally match the criteria set forth in your job posting. These best fit candidates are invited to apply and, once they do so, you can easily sort and search through their digital resumes, as opposed to downloading, saving, and hand sorting a large number of resumes like you would with other career search websites.
Candidates are asked a few general questions and some multiple choice questions that you can define for filtering purposes (i.e. salary requirements, certifications, etc.). These are used to sort applications and find the candidates that meet your minimum requirements for consideration. You can rate the applicants numerically (a private rating that applicants will never see), type notes on them, sort them into filing folders, and contact them by phone or using our internal email system.
JobbingTree and FreeAdvantage address many of the weaknesses found in traditional self-staffing websites:
- You do not need expensive job board accounts because we use our relationships with those sites to search their boards when necessary.
- You are not limited to applicants culled from one source. We search various sources for you.
- All applicants of opted-in to consideration for your job opening, which yields fresh candidates.
- You won't have to read through and weed through numerous resume files. Employer-defined filtering questions help you find the cream of the crop.
- FreeAdvantage provides the tools that streamline the search process, tools that make identifying, classifying, and following up with candidates simple.
How much will it cost my company? How does JobbingTree make FreeAdvantage possible?
The position posting, candidate scouting, invitation, application, and management services of FreeAdvantage are all 100% free to employers. We can do this thanks to limited, relevant advertising throughout our site. We do not encourage you to click on or opt into any ads in which you are not interested simply to support us. Additionally, donations will never be solicited or accepted.

What are the limitations on the number of job openings for which I can recruit and the applications I can receive?
At this time, there are no limitations on either the number of job openings you can post or the number of applications you can receive for each opening. Since our success is rooted in your success, we do our best to bring you as many qualified applications as possible.
How many applications will I receive for each of the job postings?
While we make every reasonable effort to supply you with as many qualified applicants as possible, some job openings will prove more difficult to fill due to any number of variants, from job location to the skills they require.
Will the large number of potential applicants be cumbersome to filter and manage?
No. With our system, you can specify questions that applicants must answer in multiple choice format. You can use their answer(s) to filter and sort the applicants as you see fit.
Are you a job board?
No. We utilize our own database as well as a number of other databases, job boards, and recruiting systems to identify and contact as many suitable candidates as possible. You jobs are neither publicly accessible nor searchable by registered members. Only candidates who meet your pre-established criteria and are invited to apply can see the information you provide concerning your career opportunity.
Do you facilitate international hiring?
At this time, we do not seek applicants from foreign countries or for positions in foreign countries. However, this might change in the future. Please contact us if you would be interested in this service.
Do you provide our information to commercial third parties?
No, not without your express consent in the form of opting into or clicking on advertisements contained within our site. Your contact information is not accessible to other employers, job seekers, or the public; it will be provided to applicants as necessary. If you are solicited by a member of our site, we strongly encourage you to notify us so that we may take the appropriate actions.
